BIO

Silas Alexander was born in 2005 on the spanish mainland and is raised on Ibiza, one of the paradisiac, balearic islands in the Mediterranean Sea.

At the Young age of only six years he started to fly his first kite, a NAISH CORE 3m, in a playful manner. It was his kitesurfing father who encouraged him then.

His mother, a multidisciplinary artist and Pilates teacher has developped her own technique Fusión Pilates which involves also some Yoga and Martial Arts exercises. She keeps educating his body, mind and soul whilst being connected to the nautic sector through Silas´ affectionate and caring step father, who is an excellent business man and a thorough sailor. Mother and step father are actively supporting the ALIANZA MAR BLAVA an association that protects the Mediterranean Sea from oil prospecting and offshore drilling.

Silas has got german nationality but his familiar background is multicultural and he is growing up speaking five languages: Spanish, English, German, French and Catalan, yet he is studying at an international french school. This lingual advantage makes it easy for him to relate with new people and he loves to make new friends especially in the kitescene.

The family take every opportunity to get Silas a chance to go kiting, wether in Ibiza, or the neighbouring islands Formentera and Mallorca. The ibicencan kiteschool KITEIBIZA, run by David Alvelino and his wife Ieva, watched over the youngster when executing his first runs at the age of 8 years with his SLINGSHOT 5M Kite and his NOBILE board.

A journey in 2015 to Eurpoe´s wind capital Tarifa, Andalucia and the excellent training by the kiteschool SUBCIELO, run by Manuel Beltrán and his partner Victoria Lopez Antunez, have made Silas a real kitesurfer when he was just 10 years old landing his first jumps.

In 2016 he refined his technique on the german island Fehmarn in the Baltic Sea under the guidance of the kiteschool CHARCHULLA run by Marco Charchulla and his father, a legendary windsurf pioneer.

2017 is the year when Silas took his kiting to another level navegating in Ibiza and Formentera but mainly he is progressing by spending the whole summer in Tarifa training with Manuel and Victoria from SUBCIELO kiteschool and tuned with new material: an 8m CABRINHA FX sold to him at the best posible price by his friend Jorge Vazquez from the Kiteshop OZU TARIFA, where his first mini harnes was tailormade years ago. Grateful to these people for their professional advice and friendliness Silas keeps practicing always higher jumps and new tricks.
